Yellowstone to Zions...

We are currently visiting some friends in Salt Lake City, Utah while we pass through the state. Tomorrow we will head to Zion National Park to spend a few days. Last week was spent in Yellowstone National Park. Our last couple of days there we were unable to fully enjoy. We neglected to plan for a blizzard in June! Silly us. We didn't think of the necessity of full winter coats, gloves, hates and snowshoes when we began our trip. After all, everyone has heard of a "white summer", right? I don't know what we were thinking. We should've planned better. Seriously, it was a crazy, full-on, snowstorm for two days. Our poor motorhome was so frozen and wet we had to get out of the mountains just to dry off and warm up. We tried to see Old Faithful the last day but we didn't even know when it began erupting. It just looked as white in the sky before, during and after. There was a bit more visible steam but white on white is just plain white. Not that impressive to my poor kiddos who were all excited about seeing water shoot out of the ground before our trip. Oh well. Good reason to go back... It was still a beautiful place.

Reading your blog, by both of you makes me realize a good part of why your marriage works and is so wonderful... you both have such a great sense of humor. I think that is a key to longevity in a marriage. I laughed in so many times while reading your blog, but need to go back to work, or I would love to make many more comments. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. You are the best. Please tell the kids Grandma misses them! (you, too) Love, Mom
